Operations and Sales Trainee

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team at Pickfords as a Trainee Manager. This role focuses on gaining comprehensive knowledge of various aspects of the removals business, including sales, move management, and operations.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, monitor, and manage daily operations effectively, ensuring a consistent and professional service is delivered to our customers.
- Provide accurate cost reporting on in-house systems, such as wages and purchase orders.
- Conduct pre-move calls 48 hours before each move to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Complete weekly trading reports and monthly forecasts to inform business decisions.
- Proactively manage personnel, vehicles, and materials required for planned moves.
- Conduct customer visits during and after moves to ensure service quality and gather feedback.
- Investigate claims and complaints thoroughly, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all transport legislative requirements and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain an up-to-date training matrix for all operational staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively.
- Adhere to company ISO/BAR accreditations, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of quality and service.

You will be responsible for leading and managing branches to achieve revenue and margins, contributing to targets through efficient planning, monitoring, and daily operational management. Your main responsibility will be ensuring a consistent, professional service is delivered to our customers that aligns with our quality standards.

Your excellent planning and prioritising abilities will streamline operations, and your clear communication skills will facilitate teamwork.
You will motivate teams and create a positive working environment, helping colleagues reach their full potential. Coaching and training expertise will develop the team's skills, and your problem-solving skills and knowledge of transport legislation, fleet and maintenance controls will help address challenges and ensure compliance.
