About the Role:

As an Environmental Awareness and Enforcement Specialist at Powys County Council, you will play a vital role in promoting recycling schemes and maximising participation. Your enthusiasm for environmental issues, particularly recycling, will drive your efforts to make our county cleaner and greener.

About You:

We are looking for someone with a strong interest in environmental conservation and a willingness to learn. This is a permanent post that offers a career-graded apprenticeship opportunity, allowing you to earn while you learn and complete an NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Undertake general office administration duties, including managing the team inbox, handling correspondence, and dealing with complaints.
  • Plan and deliver educational campaigns to promote recycling and encourage service uptake, maintaining service web-pages and social media channels.
  • Engage with the community through various initiatives, such as litter picks, door knocking campaigns, attending local events, and giving talks to community groups.

What We Offer:

You will have the opportunity to develop strong administration, customer service, and marketing skills, with detailed knowledge of recycling and engagement strategies. As you progress, you can expect to work towards achieving full salary levels, with incremental increases over three years.
