Ecology Graduate Opportunity

AECOM is seeking a talented Ecology Graduate to join our team in Leeds. As a leading environmental consultancy, we deliver innovative solutions to complex environmental challenges.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to further your career in ecology and gain valuable work experience within a successful consultancy. You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team on field surveys, including habitat and species surveys, impact assessment, and biodiversity net gain assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys, including preliminary ecological appraisal, Phase 1 habitat surveys, and protected species surveys
  • Collaborate with a team of ecologists, architects, engineers, and planners on important projects
  • Develop and implement effective biodiversity management plans
  • Contribute to the development of ecological services, including habitat and species surveys, impact assessment, and biodiversity net gain assignments
Requirements
  • 2:1 degree or above in Ecology or a subject with an ecological component
  • UK plant and animal identification skills
  • Good field skills and previous exposure to protected species surveys
  • Ability to record data efficiently and methodically
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent research and report writing skills
  • Commitment to continued education and improvement through our approved training schemes
