About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Graduate Ecologist to join our team in Leeds. As a Graduate Ecologist, you will be working on a variety of projects, including field surveys, ecological impact assessments, and biodiversity net gain assignments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys, including preliminary ecological appraisal, Phase 1 habitat surveys, and protected species surveys
  • Assist in the development of ecological impact assessments and biodiversity net gain assignments
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality work and meet project deadlines
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
  • 2:1 degree or above in Ecology or a related subject
  • Keen interest and understanding of UK wildlife
  • UK plant and animal identification skills
  • Good field skills and ability to work safely
  • Previous exposure to protected species surveys
  • Ability to record data efficiently and methodically
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
  • Strong numeracy and communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues
