AECOM is a leading environmental consultancy, and we're seeking a talented Graduate Ecologist to join our team in Leeds. As a Graduate Ecologist, you'll work alongside experienced professionals on exciting projects, developing your skills and expertise in ecological management and conservation.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable work experience and contribute to our mission to deliver a better world through effective management of biodiversity. You'll work on a range of projects, including habitat and species surveys, impact assessments, and biodiversity net gain assignments. Our team works safely and to a high technical standard, and we're committed to supporting your professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys, including preliminary ecological appraisal, Phase 1 habitat surveys, and protected species surveys
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team to provide ecological services, including habitat and species surveys, impact assessment, and biodiversity mitigation
  • Develop and implement ecological management plans to ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and develop effective solutions
  • Contribute to the development of new business opportunities and proposals
Requirements
  • 2:1 degree or above in Ecology or a related subject
  • UK plant and animal identification skills
  • Good field skills and experience with protected species surveys
  • Ability to record data efficiently and methodically
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
  • Excellent research and report writing skills
  • Commitment to continued education and improvement through our approved training schemes
