Behavioural Support Specialist
We are seeking a proactive, compassionate, and patient individual who is experienced in working with children with SEMH, ASD, ADD, PDA, and other associated needs. This Behaviour LSA role involves implementing behaviour management strategies, de-escalating challenging situations, and encouraging positive behaviours.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people with challenging behaviour, ideally within an SEN or education setting. They will also possess a strong understanding of SEN, including SEMH, ASD, ADD, and PDA, as well as effective strategies for supporting these needs in an educational context.
A relevant qualification in education, child development, psychology, or SEN is advantageous but not essential. Strong verbal and written communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm and compassionate in high-pressure situations are essential.
As a Behaviour LSA, you will play a critical role in supporting students with a range of additional needs within our nurturing SEN provision. You will work closely with children who may present challenging behaviours and require an individualised approach to learning. Your focus will be on promoting positive behaviour, emotional resilience, and engagement in learning activities, enabling these young people to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
