Job Title: Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Support

About the Role:

Randstad Student Support is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist One-to-One Study Skills Support Worker to join our team. As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide individualized learning support and academic guidance to students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) at universities and colleges in Dundee.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to each student's needs.
  • Provide academic guidance and support to students to develop independence, build on strengths and learning strategies, and create strategies around organization and time management.
  • Support students to develop research skills, widen knowledge by using a variety of sources, and distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references.
  • Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing.
  • Work collaboratively with students, university staff, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible service to students.

Requirements:

  • Membership with one of the relevant professional bodies (British Dyslexia Association, Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia, Dyslexia Guild, or The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties).
  • Experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship.
  • Punctuality and reliability.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of students.
