About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our teams within General Adult and Older Adult Psychiatry. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will lead the clinical management and treatment of patients within the General Adult Psychiatry Home Treatment Service and provide input to the Older People's Mental Health service.

This role offers a blend of clinical leadership, patient-centred care, and team working, ideal for psychiatrists looking to work across directorates to improve standards and drive continuous service improvement in mental health.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a Community Mental Health Team and a proven commitment to improving the quality of clinical care. They will also possess management training and experience, as well as involvement in service development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular patient assessments and collaborate in multi-disciplinary team meetings
  • Deliver expert psychiatric care to working age adults and older adults, supporting them in their recovery journeys
  • Supervise and guide junior medical staff and support training and education of HTTs

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for weekly patient reviews, Memory clinic assessments, providing crisis intervention, and supporting HTTs to gatekeep admissions to inpatient units, enabling patients to receive care in the community wherever possible.
