About the Role

As a Prison Officer with Serco, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of prisoners, staff, and visitors in our prisons. You will be at the forefront of reducing reoffending rates amongst prisoners, making a meaningful and vital contribution to society.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise prisoners in all aspects of prison wing activity, promoting a safe and structured environment.
  • Oversee work and education programmes, encouraging prisoners to participate and develop valuable skills.
  • Operational matters such as prisoner headcounts, prison cell searching, security, and administrative processes.
  • Manage prisoners who are at risk of self-harm, providing support and guidance.
