Job Title: Contracts Manager

Location: Derby, with travel to sites within 1.5 hours

Salary: Up to £70,000 + Company Car + Health Insurance + Benefits

About the Company:

Established in 2019, this family-run groundworks contractor has seen impressive year-on-year growth with a turnover of £3 million, projected to reach £4 million next year. They specialise in delivering groundwork packages across various sectors, including prisons and care homes, working with a number of Tier 1 contractors.

The Role:

As a Contracts Manager, you will oversee 3 to 4 sites at any one time, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard. You will be expected to be in the office for an internal meeting once a week and travel to sites on a regular basis. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and overseeing multiple construction sites
  • Fostering strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and site teams
  • Managing up and down - effectively communicating with senior leadership while managing site teams and relationships with contractors
  • Ensuring smooth project delivery in line with drawings and specifications
  • Attending weekly office meetings and site visits

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tier 1 contractor experience is essential (either working with or for)
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at all levels, from senior leadership to site teams
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • A proven track record in managing construction projects
  • Flexibility to travel to sites and attend office meetings
