About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sustainability Expert to join our team at Hoare Lea. As a key member of our Sustainability Group, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sustainable solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop holistic Sustainability Strategies to minimize environmental impact and maximize energy efficiency.
  • Lead the delivery of environmental assessments, including BREEAM, WELL, and HQM.
  • Conduct a range of modelling and assessment, including embodied carbon of materials, circular economy opportunities, building performance simulation, operational energy use, energy generation, and overheating.
  • Support the development of energy strategies with our clients to lead sustainability innovation on a series of developments.
  • Support the training of graduate members of the team.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Sustainability Group on research and development initiatives to stay at the cutting edge of knowledge in our industry.
  • Develop bespoke sustainability charters and produce planning documents, including sustainability statements, energy statements, whole life carbon reports, and circular economy statements.
  • Develop net zero carbon strategies and embodied carbon calculations.
Requirements
  • BREEAM – qualified BREEAM Assessor or AP.
  • Experience working within the built environment sector.
  • Already working within a sustainability or engineering consultancy, you will be looking for a new challenge within a practice at the forefront of our field.
  • You will bring expertise (with a degree in engineering / science, and experience in the field) and a passion for creating sustainable solutions.
  • You will have good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working within a team environment.
  • You will be serious about sustainability.
