Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sustainability Expert to join our team at Hoare Lea. As a key member of our Sustainability Group, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing sustainable solutions for our clients.

About the Role

As a Sustainability Expert, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing holistic sustainability strategies for our clients
  • Leading the delivery of environmental assessments, including BREEAM, WELL, and HQM
  • Undertaking a range of modeling and assessment, including embodied carbon of materials, circular economy opportunities, building performance simulation, operational energy use, energy generation, and overheating
  • Supporting the development of energy strategies with our clients to lead sustainability innovation on a series of developments
  • Supporting the training of graduate members of the team
  • Working with other members of the Sustainability Group on research and development initiatives to stay at the cutting edge of knowledge in our industry

Key Skills and Knowledge

You will have some knowledge and experience in a selection of the following fields:

  • BREEAM, HQM, WELL, Fitwel assessments
  • Whole Life Carbon Assessments – using OneClick or other methodologies
  • Bespoke sustainability charters
  • Production of planning documents, including sustainability statements, energy statements, whole life carbon reports, and circular economy statements
  • Net zero carbon strategies and embodied carbon calculations

About You

We are looking for an experienced Sustainability Expert who has a degree in engineering or science and has experience in the field. You will have a passion for creating sustainable solutions and be serious about sustainability. You will also have good communication skills and an enthusiasm for working within a team environment.
