Telefónica Tech, a leading NextGen Tech solutions provider, is seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional database services to our clients worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing delivery and support for SQL Server environments, ensuring database integrity, security, and performance.
  • Collaborate with technical, applications, and operational colleagues to identify and resolve database-related issues.
  • Perform SQL Server patching, support customer release deployment activities, and upgrades.
  • Develop and maintain database documentation, including procedures and definitions for customer environment specifics.
  • Ensure database maintenance procedures are functioning correctly and perform capacity planning and provisioning of SQL Server instances or databases.
  • Manage HA and DR aspects of SQL Server and act as level 3 support for the DBA team.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in SQL Server production environments and managing critical situations.
  • Knowledge of SQL Server FCI & AlwaysON, troubleshooting & configuration.
  • Understanding of query tuning concepts, identifying performance bottlenecks, and SQL Server setup, storage, and best practices.
  • Strong written and spoken English and ability to identify opportunities and issues in SQL Server environments.
  • Ability to help plan tasks for less experienced team members and support and mentor.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Azure SQL Databases and Azure SQL Managed Instance.
  • Basic concepts of Azure DevOps.
  • Experience of other databases, including CosmosDB, Postgres, and MySQL.
  • Experience of SQL Server migrations to the public cloud.
