About the Role

This is a critical position that requires an experienced train preparer to meet current industry standards. You will be responsible for ensuring freight trains and associated wagons are correctly prepared for service, disposing of them when not in use, and assisting train drivers with brake continuity testing.

You will also be responsible for completing train documentation, carrying out shunting and train preparation duties, and operating ground frames and hand points as required. Additionally, you will undertake technical examinations of rolling stock, assist maintenance/servicing staff, and work various shift patterns including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
