Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the NPD and Technical services team.
- Manage the development process from concept to launch.
- Ensure new products are innovative, of the highest quality, and market leading.
- Optimise development processes and continually improve the service provided to customers.
- Ensure projects are delivered to the highest possible standards within agreed critical path timelines and commercial parameters.
- Develop and mentor both the NPD and Technical services teams.
- Develop and optimise the current development process.
- Promote the development of an innovative and creative culture throughout the NPD function.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and ensure successful networks, knowledge transfer, and cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain customer and company quality standards.
- Manage an overview of NPD projects and ensure projects remain on track.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation changes and champion the knowledge transfer within the business.
- Keep up to date with food, innovation, and technological trends.
- Report departmental performance monthly through KPIs and seek constant improvement.
- Promote and lead departmental growth and training.
- Handle all customer technical contact, specifications, artwork generation, customer enquiries, and complaints.
- Coordinate retailers technical account management, product development, food safety, artwork approval, and packaging change project management.
- Actively work with site and central technical staff in the development of technical initiatives.
- Contribute to health and safety initiatives.
- Conduct staff briefings and training sessions as needed.
- Contribute to achieving success within the operation profit and loss account.
- Take responsibility for personal performance and skill development.
- Implement Equal Opportunities policy.
- Promote the Environmental Policy through sustainable practices.
