Job Title: Power Systems Test Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Test Engineer to join our team at Matchtech. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading hands-on testing of power electronics and electrical systems in a lab environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute test plans for power converters, motor drives, and other related systems.
  • Perform electrical testing on both low-voltage and high-voltage systems, identifying issues and ensuring that systems are safe and functional under various operating conditions.
  • Troubleshoot system faults, diagnose complex technical problems, and implement effective solutions to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Support the integration of power electronics into larger systems, testing the compatibility and performance of systems when combined with other components.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in power electronics testing, fault finding, and lab-based testing of power converters, motor drives, or other complex electronic systems.
  • Hands-on experience with lab-based equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators, and power analysers.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing on both low-voltage and high-voltage systems, including diagnostics and fault resolution.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics, electrical systems, and converter topologies.
Desirable:
  • Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageous.
  • Experience in the Naval / Maritime domain would be advantageous.
