About the Role

The Systems Engineer plays a pivotal role in the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge large cargo and handheld engineering projects within the Cargo Division. Working closely with the Chief Engineer, Product Line Manager, and Cross-Functional Teams, the Systems Engineer will leverage their expertise in systems engineering principles and processes to help ensure the successful execution of projects that meet critical requirements. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and exceptional problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities of the Systems Engineer

Oversee the planning, control and utilization of key engineering project activities relating to Cargo and Handheld products across the company.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish product/project requirements
  • Design, develop, and implement system architectures that meet product/project objectives
  • Work with cross-functional product teams to identify then close key decisions early in the design process to mitigate technical/schedule risk
  • Act as a primary design reviewer during each phase of the development process
  • Work closely with the System Integration & Test group on to ensure proper V&V testing performed with proper documentation and traceability
  • Identify and help resolve technical issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Perform System Hazard Analysis/Risk Assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications and user manuals.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience as a systems Engineer in a relevant field of work
  • BEng/BSc in an Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.

Essential

  • Demonstrated experience successfully leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Strong project and people management skills
  • Knowledge of a broad range of engineering disciplines
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional, collaborative environment
  • Willingness to travel domestic and international, occasional
  • Bachelor's degree or Masters Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in systems engineering or a related field
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologies
  • Experience with system integration, testing, and validation

Desirable

  • Experience in using CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Eplan or SolidWorks.
