About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Support Officer to join our team at National Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of our facilities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Technical Support Officer in ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and site licence conditions. This will involve reviewing and maintaining logbooks, management plans, and safety signs and signals, as well as undertaking regular audits and observations to monitor standards.

You will also be responsible for supporting the management of office and external space within our local buildings footprint, as well as contributing to our sustainability management and improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Technical Support Officer in ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and site licence conditions.
  • Review and maintain logbooks, management plans, and safety signs and signals.
  • Undertake regular audits and observations to monitor standards.
  • Support the management of office and external space within our local buildings footprint.
  • Contribute to our sustainability management and improvements.
Requirements
  • Ability to analyse information and understand when to escalate decisions.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to communicate concepts.
  • Ability to remain calm in pressured circumstances.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with NNL employees and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in incident and emergency response, particularly in Building Control duties.
  • Ability to communicate key information both verbally and in writing with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of operational and maintenance requirements associated with their area(s) of control.
  • Experience of Building Management.
  • GCSEs in Maths, English, and Science Grade C or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance.
