About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Support Officer to join our team at National Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our facilities and compliance teams.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring the highest levels of administrative efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with our management systems. You will work closely with our QPulse administrators to maintain documentation, conduct compliance checks, and provide guidance on operational documentation.

In addition to your administrative duties, you will also be responsible for managing records retention, archiving documents, and maintaining an auditable trail. You will work closely with our building management team to ensure that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with monitoring changes in the Sellafield Ltd Management System and maintain compliance with our NNL Information Management System (QPulse).
  • Support and manage documentation on the management system, providing guidance and acting on issues regarding operational documentation.
  • Conduct compliance checks of all Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) procedures and reports/initiates any necessary remedial action.
  • Administer key operational committees, including the production of quality minutes, notes for the record, and meeting records that maintain an auditable trail.
  • Manage records retention and archive documents, ensuring that all records are retained or removed as per the Records Retention and Disposition Schedule.
  • Perform general administration tasks, including ordering goods, issuing and controlling visitor passes, supporting site visits, arranging meetings, taking minutes, monitoring and controlling stationery supplies, and acting as a one-card holder.
  • Assist with additional roles, such as Emergency Team Member, Building Controller, Legionella Responsible Person, and Asbestos Coordinator.
Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proven experience of organizational skills and time management.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the business.
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to work to stringent deadlines.
  • Evidence of self-motivation with demonstrable levels of drive, energy, and resilience.
  • Strong communicator, able to elicit information from stakeholders at all levels.
  • Logical and methodical approach.
  • GSCE's (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
  • Ability to obtain SC level security clearance (this includes but is not limited to identity, employment, financial, and criminal record checks plus 5 years' worth of UK residency).
Desirable Criteria
  • Understanding of Sellafield Site License requirements.
  • Experience of working in the nuclear industry.
  • Knowledge of compliance systems or writing and reviewing safe systems of work and associated documentation.
  • Facilities Management Experience.
  • Good knowledge of other MS office packages, e.g., PowerPoint.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
