Job Overview

The Academic Support Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and supporting all aspects of the student admissions process. This includes handling applications, conducting eligibility checks, liaising with applicants, and ensuring a smooth transition for students from application to enrolment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Application Evaluation: Process and evaluate student applications in accordance with admissions policies and criteria, ensuring accurate and timely assessments.
  • Eligibility Checks: Conduct thorough eligibility checks, including qualification and identity verification, and maintain accurate records to support informed decision-making.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with applicants, guiding them through each stage of the admissions process and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Interview and Assessment Coordination: Coordinate admissions interviews and assessments, including scheduling and liaising with academic staff to ensure a seamless experience for applicants.
  • Enquiry Response: Respond promptly and professionally to enquiries from prospective students and parents, providing accurate and helpful information to support their decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless enrolment process for new students, aligning with The Graduate Project's commitment to student success.
  • Database Maintenance: Update and maintain the admissions database to ensure accurate and up-to-date information, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Event Support: Assist in developing and implementing admissions events and open days, promoting The Graduate Project's commitment to student engagement and recruitment.

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Organisational Skills: Possess strong organisational skills with a keen attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication styles to suit diverse audiences and contexts.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines, prioritising tasks and responsibilities to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Customer Focus: Possess a customer-focused approach, with the ability to provide high-quality service to all stakeholders, including prospective students, parents, and academic staff.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using admissions or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, SIMS) is preferred, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Admissions Experience: Prior experience in admissions, customer service, or administration within an educational or similar environment is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the UK Education System: Knowledge of the UK education system is advantageous, supporting informed decision-making and effective communication with applicants and stakeholders.
