We are seeking a skilled Transport Planner to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for managing and planning vehicles for import collections and export deliveries, ensuring all daily collections and delivery requirements are met, and maintaining compliance with all legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and plan vehicles for import collections and export deliveries efficiently, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments regarding operational issues, including logistics, operations, and customer service.
  • Ensure all legal compliances, including DVSA, WTD, and UK legislation, are adhered to, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the transport team, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Be flexible with working times and days as part of a shift operation, adapting to changing demands and priorities.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication at all levels, dealing with both internal and external customers, and providing excellent customer service.
  • Uphold all DHL Global Forwarding processes and procedures, ensuring consistency and quality in all aspects of the job.
  • Solve problems effectively and enjoy the challenge of a fast-paced environment, thinking critically and creatively to resolve complex issues.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in scheduling, preferably within the air freight industry, with a strong understanding of logistics and transportation principles.
  • Good understanding of LHR and the Ground Handling Agents (GHAs) that service the airlines and their handling requirements, with the ability to communicate effectively with these stakeholders.
  • Full understanding of Aviation Security regulation and ensuring compliance at all times, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Health & Safety in the workplace, ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Experience with shared mailboxes and IT generalist knowledge, with proficiency in Transport Management systems and MS Office programs, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail, customer service, administration, and financial awareness, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • 5-year checkable work history and CRB check, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
