We are seeking a skilled Project/Contracts Engineer to join our team at MWH Treatment, based in Derby. This role will focus on a batch of schemes in North Nottinghamshire, with hybrid working available.

As a key member of our Delivery team, you will report directly to the Project Manager and assist in coordinating an effective and economic plant design and procurement strategy. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring project costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
  • Ensuring all applications for payment are made on or before the due date
  • Completing contract reviews and submitting monthly forecasts on time
  • Maintaining good client relationships at all levels
  • Assisting with the Project Management strategy
  • Establishing and maintaining contract filing systems
  • Assisting in the production of the contract programme and monitoring progress
  • Providing data for the timely production of O&M manuals
  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Liaising with site management on design and procurement issues
  • Monitoring subcontract performance
  • Assisting in the preparation of construction completion and take over documentation
  • Ensuring continuous professional development by participating in external networking, conferences, associations, and groups
  • Maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach to work, providing open and honest feedback
  • Undertaking additional duties, training, and/or hours of work as required
  • Presenting a professional and positive image of the department and MWH Treatment in all internal and external contact
  • Ensuring confidentiality and maintaining mutually constructive relationships
  • Working closely with design departments to ensure timely progressing of quality solutions
  • Evaluating innovative solutions and processes
  • Contributing to risk and opportunity schedules on a monthly basis
  • Ensuring designs are safe to construct, commission, operate, and maintain
  • Completing the capitalisation process
