Project Planner Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Planner to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a Project Planner, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning function on a major MoD construction project based in Derby.

The successful candidate will have valid UK SC clearance and experience leading robust project controls teams on major construction projects within highly regulated industries.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working with stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are defined.
  • Providing clarity on key milestones to define what, when and how activities will be organised to ensure the outcomes can be achieved.
  • Leading on all aspects of project planning, including the development, updating and monitoring of plans and schedules.
  • Identifying tasks, activities, interdependencies and outputs.
  • Working with the project team to track and monitor progress against the plan throughout the lifecycle.
  • Developing clear vision and standards and championing the use of best practice project planning standards, tools and processes.
  • Applying advanced knowledge in the discipline of planning for the analysis and successful resolution of risks and issues and identification of opportunities.
  • Providing guidance and specialist advice to the Project Manager on selection of planning approach, tools, processes and proportionality.
  • Identifying and leading the introduction of industry standard best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold valid UK SC clearance to work on nuclear/defence construction projects.
  • Must have demonstrable experience leading robust project controls teams on major construction projects within highly regulated industries.
  • An proficient level of understanding of Primavera P6 is essential.
  • Must be able to utilise techniques such as earned value management/analysis, critical path analysis, cost loading and risk management.
  • A degree in related engineering/project management field is desirable.
