Job Overview

Role Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Calibration Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems. As a Senior Metrology Engineer, you will be responsible for performing high-end calibrations and repairs on a wide range of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality calibration services to meet customer requirements
  • Develop and maintain calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders to ensure effective communication and consultation on instrumentation and calibration topics
  • Participate in quality audits and achieve UKAS signatory status
  • Provide training and experiential learning to team members and apprentices/graduates

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience working in a precision electrical calibration/metrology laboratory environment
  • Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001)
  • Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND or equivalent)

Desirable:

  • Existing UKAS signatory status for Electrical Calibration
  • Experience in creation of measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level
  • Experience in use of automation software (Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, Met/Teams, Labview)
  • Experience in Mechanical, Dimensional, Temperature, and other engineering calibrations
