Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Calibration Specialist to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our calibration department, you will be responsible for performing and supervising high-level calibration and repair of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and supervise high-level calibration and repair of electrical test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Write, review, and approve calibration procedures and measurement uncertainty budgets.
  • Participate in UKAS audits and achieve UKAS signatory status.
  • Deliver on-the-job training and experiential learning to apprentices and lesser-experienced team members.
  • Communicate professionally with technical stakeholders, including consultation on new measurement technologies.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Extensive experience in a precision electrical metrology laboratory environment.
  • Understanding of quality systems and standards (ISO 17025/ISO 9001).
  • Relevant academic qualification (STEM degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent).

Desirable:

  • Existing UKAS signatory status for Electrical Calibration.
  • Experience in creating measurement uncertainty budgets to ISO 17025 level.
  • Experience in using automation software (Fluke Metcal, Met/Track, Met/Teams, Labview).
  • Experience in mechanical, dimensional, and temperature calibrations.

About the Team:

The calibration department currently supports 30,000 pieces of equipment per year, ranging from traditional analogue equipment to state-of-the-art digital systems. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
