Job Opportunity at Octagon Group

A well-established company, Octagon Group, is seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join their R&D team in Sheffield. The successful candidate will be involved in the development of new scientific instrumentation products for various industries, including Medical, Defence, and Nuclear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of electronic hardware, including analogue and digital components, and embedded systems
  • Testing and validation of prototype hardware and firmware
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams and support for other engineers to achieve project milestones
  • Travel may be required for company site visits and industry conferences

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Knowledge and experience in analogue and digital electronic design, PCB design, and schematic capture and layout
  • Proven experience in electronics development within an R&D team
  • Experience in prototyping, testing, and fault finding
  • Familiarity with mechanical design and mechanical drawings is beneficial
  • Embedded programming experience using C/C++ is advantageous
  • A valid UK driving license and own transport are required for this role
