Electronics Design Engineer Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Design Engineer to join our R&D team at Octagon Group in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of new scientific instrumentation products that will be used by various industries, including Medical, Defence, and Nuclear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic hardware, including analogue and digital components, and embedded systems.
  • Test and validate prototype hardware and firmware to ensure quality and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, to integrate electronic and mechanical components.
  • Travel to other company sites and industry conferences to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in electronic design, PCB design, and schematic capture and layout.
  • Strong understanding of analogue and digital electronic design principles.
  • Experience with prototyping, testing, and fault finding.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and mechanical drawings is a plus.
  • Proficiency in embedded programming languages, such as C or C++.
  • A valid UK driving license and own transportation are required for this role.
