About Us: Octagon Group is a well-established company working in detection technology, seeking an Electronics Design Engineer to join their R&D team based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Job Description:

We are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join our R&D team, responsible for the development of new scientific instrumentation products used by various industries, including Medical, Defence, and Nuclear.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electronic hardware (analogue and digital) and embedded development.
  • Test prototype hardware and firmware.
  • Liaise with key team members and support other engineers to reach project milestones.
  • Travel may be required for this role.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of analogue and digital electronic design, PCB design, and schematic capture and layout.
  • Proven experience of working on electronics development within an R&D team.
  • Experience of prototyping, testing, and fault finding.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and mechanical drawings is beneficial.
  • Embedded programming experience (using C/C++) is beneficial.
  • A valid UK driving license and own transport are required.
