Job Description

Venesky Brown's client, a public sector organization, is seeking a Housing Services Manager for a 12-month contract. This role will be hybrid, with 2 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the management of housing services areas, ensuring effective customer-focused leadership.
  • Manage complex housing-related projects, informing and facilitating the delivery of the housing service plan, Housing Strategy, and the Housing Revenue Account business plan.
  • Work with other managers to develop processes and implement service improvement changes for customers and the Council.
  • Ensure the delivery of a value-for-money service that meets regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of estates management/neighbourhood inspections to address issues effectively.
  • Support tenant/resident involvement initiatives to empower tenants and hold the service accountable for excellent service delivery and community outcomes.
  • Develop links and partnerships with local authorities, private, public, and community/voluntary sector organizations to deliver the Council's plans for the housing service.
  • Ensure good customer care and customer services align with the Council's 'CAN DO' values and Equality and Diversity policies.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant housing legislation and regulatory requirements for service management.
  • Exhibit commitment, vision, and leadership in delivering the housing management service.
Requirements
  • Demonstrable successful change management experience in housing or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of housing and relevant legislations, with the ability to innovate in response to new housing requirements.
  • Experience in housing management of general needs and independent living types of accommodation.
  • Delivery of significant corporate and service-specific projects combining cross-cutting areas.
  • Partnership involvement with local authorities, community/voluntary sector, and statutory agencies.
  • Ability to work within the Council's financial guidelines and manage projects effectively.
  • Good understanding and experience of IT systems utilized within the housing management field.
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing or equivalent body.
