Job Title: Paediatric Dietitian Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Dietitian Specialist to join our Neurology and Dietetic Team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, developing the outpatient ketogenic service and providing high-quality clinical care to neurology outpatients across paediatrics 0-19 years.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have relevant post-registration experience as a Band 6 Paediatric Dietitian, with experience of working as part of an MDT in clinical practice. They will also have a strong understanding of ketogenic diets and the ability to work under pressure both independently and in a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the commencement, education, and monitoring of outpatients on a ketogenic diet, tailoring the diet to the specific needs of the patient and family.
  • To provide dietetic input to the Consultant-led review clinics.
  • To develop and monitor enteral feeds and diets to support patients on ketogenic diet based on interpretation of biochemical monitoring and growth.
  • To provide teaching to the MDT and external health professionals when required.
  • To maintain a database of patients on the ketogenic diet to monitor the service.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a BSc or Diploma in Dietetics, HCPC registration, and evidence of ongoing CPD since qualification. They will also have relevant post-registration experience as a Band 6 Paediatric Dietitian, with experience of working as part of an MDT in clinical practice and a strong understanding of ketogenic diets.
