Hours: 15 hours per week

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Administration Officer to join our team at Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Governance and Safeguarding team.

Main Duties:

  • Provide general advice and guidance on policies and procedures to members of the public, headteachers, governors, and other local authority professionals.
  • Organise and manage safeguarding training, including the administration of issuing fixed penalty notices and commencing court action against parents who fail to regularly send their child to school.
  • Assist with the delivery of basic safeguarding training to chaperones involved in child performances and the processing of child performance licences.
  • Work across all teams within the service on a needs-demand basis.

Requirements:

  • Experience in administration, governance, and safeguarding.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to a wide range of queries, some of a sensitive and personal nature.
  • Sound administrative, office management, record-keeping, and ICT skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and cope with constant changes in priorities.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 4 GCSEs (grade A to C) or equivalent, to include English Language and Maths.
