The Sales Team Lead at Apprentify will oversee the daily management of the SDR team in Wilmslow. The objective of this role is to build and manage a team of highly energetic and productive SDRs capable of consistently delivering a high volume of quality new business meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management – the Sales Team Lead will be accountable for the performance and results of the team.
  • Monitors and tracks KPIs, reporting on progress.
  • Conducts regular team meetings and 1-1s, promoting success and addressing underperformance to ensure team targets are hit.
  • Motivates and energises the team to ensure consistent activity.
  • Supports the internal trainer to embed sales skills and practices, identifying skill gaps.
  • Completes all employee lifecycle events for direct reports, including induction, probation, performance management, and CPD.
  • Demonstrates excellent sales skills, particularly those relevant to an SDR role, to ensure credibility as a leader.
  • Ensures direct reports maintain accurate CRM records in line with company procedures.
  • Demonstrates how internal sales tools can be used to improve performance, monitoring tool usage within the team.
  • Supports with the recruitment and selection of SDRs as required.

KPIs:

  • Each SDR's probation is managed well, regardless of outcome.
  • SDR team targets are met (inc. meetings booked, meetings attended, and deals achieved).
  • SDRs are eligible for promotion within 2 years of start date, consistently meeting targets in line with company policy.
  • Demonstrates company values.

Requirements:

  • At least two years of line manager experience.
  • Has excelled at a junior/intermediate sales role.
  • Line manager experience in a commission-driven role (desirable).
  • Experience of working in a commercial education setting (desirable).
  • Thorough understanding of the sales cycle and key sales skills.
  • Thorough understanding of good practice performance management processes.
  • Understanding of using a CRM.
  • IT-literate, with ability to produce reports and presentations to a high standard.
  • Extremely strong line management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both junior and senior colleagues.
  • Ability to effectively manage individual and team performance.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Commercially-minded and professional in conduct and outlook.
  • Collaborative approach with outcomes focus.
  • Acts with integrity.
  • Demonstrates a problem-solving mindset with curiosity.
