Job Title: French speaking Geotechnical Engineer

SLR is seeking a highly skilled French speaking Geotechnical Engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Site Supervision: Oversee ground investigations and other fieldwork activities.
  • Scheduling and Management: Coordinate and manage laboratory testing following ground investigation.
  • Instrumentation and Monitoring: Install geotechnical instrumentation and monitor readings.
  • Planning and Procurement: Assist with planning and procurement of ground investigations.
  • Geotechnical Analysis: Conduct geotechnical analysis, including limit equilibrium analysis.
  • Health and Safety: Conduct Health & Safety Risk Assessment and Planning.

Requirements:

  • Education: Geology, Geological Hazards, Geotechnical Engineering or related geology-based discipline, or relevant MSc.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Good understanding of the principles of Geotechnical Engineering and current UK ground investigation techniques, specifications and standards (BS5930:2015 / Eurocode 7).
  • Professional Membership: Graduate level membership of a relevant professional body (or eligibility for).
  • Experience: Relevant work experience is not essential, but any demonstrable experience in Earth Sciences or Geotechnical Engineering as part of a sandwich year or post-graduation would be an advantage.
  • Driving Licence: A full driving licence is essential for this role due to site travel requirements.
