About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at AtkinsRéalis. As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting our rapidly expanding workload and impressive portfolio of prestigious geotechnical projects both in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop geotechnical solutions for infrastructure projects, including highways, rail, and water geotechnics.
  • Conduct ground investigations and provide geotechnical advice to clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in geotechnical engineering.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology with a postgraduate qualification in a geotechnical subject.
  • Chartered status as a Civil Engineer or Geologist.
  • Experience in the infrastructure sector, particularly in highways, rail, or water geotechnics.
  • Strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent).
  • Proven experience of working in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
  • Project management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets.
  • Proven geotechnical design experience.
  • Application of CDM Regulations in a design and ground investigation environment.
  • Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
  • A willingness to travel on short assignments both within the UK and overseas.
  • A valid UK driving licence preferred.

Additional Information

This role may require security clearance, and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
