Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Area Supervisor to join our team at Marks & Spencer Plc. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer experience, and leading a team of customer assistants to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Sales Growth: Support the delivery of the retail plan and store KPIs to drive profitability and sales growth in your area.
  • Lead a High-Performing Team: Recruit, develop, and coach a team of customer assistants to deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.
  • Improve Customer Experience: Support the delivery of an inspirational and consistent visual customer journey in-store, inspiring customers to shop and buy more often.
  • Embed Change: Successfully embed change initiatives for lasting commercial impact and results, and spend time coaching colleagues to accelerate performance and personal growth.
  • Maintain a Safe and Legal Store Environment: Ensure the store operates safely and legally, protecting customers, colleagues, and the M&S brand.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience in a retail environment, with a track record of driving sales growth and improving customer experience.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong commercial acumen, with a good understanding of commercial, visual, operational, and people processes and systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the store and region.
  • Technical Skills: Good level of digital capability and an understanding and use of all systems, including data and MI to identify commercial, visual, cost savings, and customer opportunities to increase profit.
