Job Title: Lead Area Supervisor

As a Lead Area Supervisor at M&S, you will play a crucial role in driving the growth and profitability of our stores. Your primary responsibility will be to implement the retail plan and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) for your area of accountability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and Develop Talent: Identify and develop great talent within the customer assistant team, ensuring succession requirements are met for the store and region.
  • Store Safety and Compliance: Support the store to trade safely and legally, protecting customers, colleagues, and the M&S brand.
  • Visual Merchandising: Deliver an inspirational, improved, and consistent visual customer journey in-store, inspiring customers to shop and buy more often.
  • Profitability and Sales: Drive profitability and sales for your area through supporting the delivery of the Retail Plan and Store KPIs.
  • Business Transformation: Support the delivery and embedding of the business transformation plan and change initiatives for your area.
  • Leadership and Culture: Create the right culture, role-modeling new digital ways of working and leadership behaviors.
  • Team Management: Deliver great standards and service by setting clear expectations with store colleagues.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data and insight to improve customer in-store experience, improve operations, and drive performance.
  • Performance Management: Regularly review individual performance through quality conversations, managing underperformance where required, and celebrating success.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure process and task delivery in line with business expectations and operating standards, allocating resources accordingly.
  • Store Environment: Maintain a safe and legal store environment.
