Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infectious Diseases

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic children's nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Infectious Diseases. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to make a real impact on families affected by infectious disorders and diseases.
The successful candidate will work across all aspects of the Infectious Diseases subspecialties, providing expert advice and support to patients and families. They will also be involved in research, audit, and project work, as well as providing continuity for patients and advocating for them to promote access to treatment and proactive management of problems that arise.
Key Responsibilities
- To act as a resource for specialised advice and support for patients and families affected by all types of infectious diseases
- To provide continuity for patients and advocating for them to promote access to treatment and proactive management of problems that arise
- To co-ordinate the care for children at GOSH for out-patient appointments and ward admissions
- To provide information and education to local healthcare staff, including Community Paediatric Nurses, Health Visitors, GPs, Social Workers, and Genetic Counsellors
- To help train nurses and other healthcare professionals in a local setting so that they may help families with day-to-day management
- To provide information and being a point of contact for nurseries, schools, and colleges and offering visits to give advice on care and management of infectious diseases
Requirements
- NMC Registered
- Relevant Degree
- Evidence of ongoing, dynamic continuing professional development within the specialty, linked to demonstrable clinical competencies
- Sufficient experience at band 6 level or equivalent, including within relevant clinical environment
- Experience of leading and managing a team
- Previous experience of audit and research
- Previous experience of change management and problem-solving
- Experience of handling clinical incidents and complaints
- Demonstrates Compassion in Practice
- Expert Knowledge relevant to the speciality field or practice
- Understanding of professional and current issues in children's nursing and healthcare, Laming Report, Francis report, CNO's vision for Compassion In practice
- Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk, and quality
- Demonstrates knowledge of safeguarding procedures

The estimated salary for this role is between £45,000 and £65,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
