Our team is diverse, bringing together experts from various fields, including software and hardware development, quantum information theory, physics, and maths. We're seeking a skilled Quantum Error Correction Researcher to help us drive innovation and progress.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science, with a proven ability to undertake high-quality theoretical or technical work. They will be passionate about translating academic expertise into an applied industrial setting and have excellent communication skills to discuss complex ideas with various audiences. A good understanding of Python and/or C++ is also required.

About the Role:
This is a unique opportunity to join our Decode team, which is developing the decoder for Deltaflow, the world's first Quantum Error Correction (QEC) stack. You will collaborate extensively with other teams at Riverlane and external partners, contributing directly to Deltaflow and its applications. As a QEC researcher, you will lead projects within the team, working on cutting-edge projects alongside mathematicians, physicists, and software developers.

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop decoding algorithms and implement protocols and algorithms in the QEC stack
* Collaborate with HW engineers and share expertise with other teams to guide development of the QEC stack
* Read and discuss academic papers with teammates, identifying important and scalable results
* Write papers and present work at conferences

Requirements:
* MSc in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent professional experience)
* Proven ability to undertake high-quality theoretical or technical work
* Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
* Passion for translating academic expertise into an applied industrial setting
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Knowledge of Python and/or C++

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including private medical insurance, life insurance, and a contributory pension scheme. The estimated salary for this role is £51,000-£73,000 per year, depending on experience. We also offer equity, allowing our team members to share in the long-term success of Riverlane.
