Role Overview

Riverlane is a pioneering quantum computing company working towards making quantum computers useful. As a Senior Quantum Error Correction Researcher, you will be part of the team developing the world's first Quantum Error Correction (QEC) stack.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a diverse team of experts in software and hardware development, quantum information theory, physics, and maths. You will collaborate extensively with other teams within Riverlane and external partners to drive progress in QEC research.

About the Role

As a senior researcher, you will lead projects within the team, guiding the direction of scientific work and driving project outcomes. Your responsibilities will include exploring existing and developing new QEC protocols, collaborating with HW engineers to implement protocols and algorithms in the QEC stack, leading projects involving small teams, and sharing expertise with other teams at Riverlane.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and explore cutting-edge QEC protocols and algorithms
  • Collaborate with HW engineers to implement QEC protocols and algorithms in the QEC stack
  • Lead projects involving small teams and guide the direction of scientific work
  • Share expertise with other teams at Riverlane to advance the development of various parts of the QEC stack
  • Contribute to writing papers and presenting work at conferences

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • Proven ability to undertake high-quality theoretical work and publish research papers
  • Experience driving the direction of scientific work and leading projects involving multiple people
  • Strong written and oral communication skills to discuss complex ideas with various audiences
  • Some knowledge of QEC and its applications
