London, Greater London, United Kingdom Grosvenor Full time

Grosvenor is a values-led organisation, representing the Grosvenor family and sharing a common purpose – to deliver lasting commercial, social and environmental benefit – addressing today's needs while taking responsibility for those of future generations.

Our Finance Centre is Grosvenor's UK centre of excellence for financial reporting and control. Within this framework, the Reporting team manages the UK Urban Property business and wider Group internal and external reporting requirements. Collectively, these businesses manage c.£11bn of assets and c.£6bn of Grosvenor's equity, deployed internationally across development and investment activities.

The London Estate Management Accountant will play a key role in the delivery of accurate, timely and well-controlled accounting for the LE portfolio. The role will also be involved in accounting for London Estate portfolio transactions such as acquisitions and disposals, as well as reviewing monthly accruals and prepayment. This feeds into the London Estate financial reporting, providing senior leaders with the insight and understanding to inform decision-making and enhance business performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the reporting of parts of the London Estate residential, retail, office, and hotel assets. The portfolio constitutes c.£3bn of the wider London Estate portfolio, consisting of c.£5bn assets in total across Mayfair and Belgravia. This is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge and skill in a large multi-sector property business and work as part of an enthusiastic, high-performing team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Year-to-date monthly reporting (by location and district) and other management reporting as required by stakeholders.
  • Contributing insightful and commercially driven commentary on the year-to-date results for the district and location reporting.
  • Developing strong working relationships with the Asset Managers and Management Surveyors.
  • Reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and maintenance of financial controls.
  • Preparing subsidiary statutory accounts for London Estate entities and liaising with auditors.
  • Assisting the UK Reporting Manager with the preparation of property movement analyses on a monthly and year-end basis.
  • Preparing ad hoc reporting and analysis to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Following agreed processes and identifying ways to improve processes, enhancing accuracy and efficiency.
  • Improving the effectiveness of the team's use of financial reporting systems and sharing knowledge with other Grosvenor teams.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in accounting standards.

Key relationships:

  • Working closely with the UK Reporting Manager and Senior Management Accountant (Trust) in the delivery of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting cycles.
  • Developing a strong working relationship with the finance business partnering team to ensure strong communication of the year-to-date results to inform their forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Liaising with the location and district Asset Managers and Management Surveyors in order to provide them with insightful financial reporting to inform their commercial decision-making.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Highly diligent with a keen eye for detail.
  • Track record of working with large data sets.

Desirable requirements:

  • A keen interest in the property industry.
  • Some post-qualified experience, preferably in industry.
  • Advanced Excel skills, and experience using accounting software (e.g. Yardi Voyager, Cognos, Caseware).
  • Track record of delivering high-quality reporting to deadlines.
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication with clarity and simplicity.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships and networks.

We know flexibility is important and take a hybrid approach to working.
