Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled SEN Education Specialist to join our team in NG1, Nottingham. The successful candidate will have experience working with students with special educational needs and will be responsible for providing support and inspiration to help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, including autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and other learning difficulties.
  • Implementing behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and engagement.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Familiarity with therapeutic approaches such as speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, or emotional and social support.
  • Knowledge and use of SEN assessment tools and techniques to monitor and evaluate student progress.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or a related field.
  • Additional qualifications or training specific to SEN, such as a Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (SEN), Level 4 Certificate for Higher Level Teaching Assistants, or other relevant SEN certifications.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in the field of SEN education.
