About the Role

\

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Screening Practitioner to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Screening Practitioner, you will play a vital role in the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, providing specialist nursing care and acting as an identified key worker for patients participating in the programme.

\

You will be responsible for collaborating with a range of health professionals within the multidisciplinary team to ensure efficient and effective operation of the service. This will involve providing advice, education and support to patients, their carers and other healthcare professionals arising as a consequence of the screening programme.

\

You will also participate in health promotion activities with local services and charities to improve access to screening, and populate and maintain the local Bowel Screening programme database.

\

About You

\

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a Registered Nurse with NMC pin, and have the ability to study at Masters or degree level for completion of Post Graduate Certificate in Bowel Cancer Screening.

\

You will have experience of patient assessment, history taking, consenting procedures, awareness of Clinical Governance and Risk Management, and working in a Multidisciplinary team environment.

\

A strong understanding of national agenda relating to bowel cancer screening services and experience of public health interventions or programmes is also essential.

\

We offer a competitive salary of £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including 27 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, and access to Continuing Professional Development opportunities.
