Care Services Director Job Description

Job Summary

We are recruiting for a passionate and motivated Care Services Director to lead one of our supported living services in the Durham area. This bespoke service enables people with complex needs, autistic spectrum conditions, and learning disabilities to lead fulfilling, happy, and rewarding lives within high-quality community-based settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of care and support to our service users.
  • Develop structured programmes of communication, personalised support, and positive behaviour management.
  • Work closely with families and other professionals.
  • Supervise and mentor a staff team.
  • Help to deliver consistent, person-centered services which meet the needs and preferences of individuals.

Requirements

  • Previous experience, knowledge, and a good understanding of working with people with complex needs, learning disabilities, and autism.
  • Skilled in assessment and support planning, using a variety of methods such as communication pathways and positive behaviour support strategies.
  • Manage and deploy staff effectively to meet the needs of service users.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A relevant social care qualification is essential (RNLD, BASW, DipSW Diploma Level 5).
  • A clean and valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
