Job Title: Retail Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Operations Manager to join our team at Canada Goose. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for providing ongoing executional support for all operational controls that enhance the customer experience, maximize efficiencies, and drive profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the store's sales objectives are achieved by rolling out the retail strategy in stores, responding to different challenges in local markets.
  • Actively contribute to reaching sales targets and store's profitability along with managing all store-controlled spending including supplies, external cleaning vendors, labour budgets, travel costs, etc.
  • Prepare sales recommendations based on weekly reporting sales per store, per product category, per mix of clientele, etc.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) per store, UPT, AUR, retention rate, etc. and propose action plans to improve KPIs.
  • Establish relationships with key corporate partners including HR, Security & Safety, Merchandising Planning, Finance, Store Operations, Experience & Education, Visual Merchandising, Facility & Maintenance, Logistics, and IT to ensure that market needs are met and sales and profitability are maximized.
  • Leverage strategic partnerships to ensure stores have adequate resources to achieve and exceed performance goals, inventory, labour, etc.
  • Drive best practices using regional insights to optimize operational performance and maintain a seamless shopping experience within an omnichannel environment.
  • React to inventory needs and merchandise flow to ensure product availability and control communication between stores and Merchandising team.
  • Lead and educate on loss prevention measures to minimize loss and increases safety.
  • Create effective schedules that prioritize the Clientele journey, maximizes productivity, and manages labour spends using internal systems including Workforce and Shoppertrack management.
  • Develop and improve Canada Goose's standard operational procedures and ensure execution is carried out with excellence, stockroom organization, cleanliness standards, opening and closing procedures, returns & exchanges, uniform, CRM data collection, etc.
  • Ensure consistent and disciplined use of strategic tools at the store level including communications platform, automated scheduling tool, payroll management, queue management, learning management, virtual appointment platform, etc.
  • Partner with key cross-functional teams to ensure physical store spaces are maintained at the highest level by controlling ordering of store supplies and by monitoring organization of areas such as cashwrap, break area, and fitting rooms.
  • Support new store openings and temporary projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing multi-unit operations at a luxury retailer.
  • Can understand 'the big picture' and exercise good business acumen.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to structure, break down, and solve complex business problems.
  • Proven ability to analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations on strategic questions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer competence in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire others to drive action.
  • Solid understanding of luxury retail and apparel industry, up to date on industry events and has a finger on the pulse on major issues and trends.
  • Ability to analyze financial reports effectively and proactively.
