About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Respiratory Medicine Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Pulmonary Medicine, you will play a key role in providing senior Respiratory Medicine support to our acute hospital sites and community Respiratory teams across the Bay.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior Respiratory Medicine support to the acute hospital sites at Lancaster Royal Infirmary and Furness General Hospital, and to the community Respiratory teams across the Bay.
- Focus on a particular respiratory sub-speciality, across the hospital inpatient setting and in the community, allowing for continuity of care and a system-wide approach to management utilising the unique and innovative Morecambe Bay Respiratory Network (MBRN).
- Work collaboratively with the medical team to provide senior Respiratory Medicine support and contribute to the development of respiratory services across the Bay.
- Participate in the development and implementation of respiratory care pathways and guidelines, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- Contribute to the education and training of medical students, doctors in training, and the multidisciplinary team, promoting excellence in respiratory care.
Requirements
- An appropriate higher General Medicine medical qualification.
- Depth and breadth of experience in General Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine following completion of approved STR training programme or equivalent.
- Experience at locum consultant level.
- Evidence of teaching appropriate to Medical students and Doctors in training and the multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to travel as required.
