About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Medicine Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team at the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality acute medical and rehabilitation care to our patients.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in general internal medicine and geriatric medicine, with a particular focus on stroke medicine. You will be expected to contribute to the development of our stroke service, working closely with existing stroke consultants, care of the elderly team, and general medicine colleagues.

Key responsibilities will include providing acute medical and rehabilitation care to patients, contributing to the TIA service, and undertaking out-patient clinics. You will also be allocated time for SPA and clinical administration work.

Requirements
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council
  • Certificate of completion in specialist training (CCT) in general internal medicine and geriatric medicine
  • Evidence of additional stroke experience
