SEN Learning Support Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long Term Teachers Ltd, based in Yeovil. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to make a real difference in the lives of students with complex learning difficulties, communication difficulties, and SEMH.
The successful candidate will be working closely with our dedicated team to support students aged 16 to 25, providing tailored support to ensure they reach their full potential. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young adults with SEND and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities- Developing and implementing strategies from students' Positive Behaviour Support Plan, Communication Plan, and Sensory Diet to promote effective engagement in learning.
- Collaborating with Tutors to follow session plans and schemes of work within Education, reporting on student progress to inform future planning.
- Creating learning resources tailored to meet students' communication needs, promoting inclusivity and accessibility.
- Liaising with Education, Care, and Clinical staff to provide a comprehensive approach to supporting student outcomes.
- Supporting students to participate in enrichment activities, such as accessing local leisure facilities or day trips across Somerset.
We are looking for a passionate and confident individual who can bring enthusiasm to the role. Experience working with young adults with SEND is desirable, and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively is essential.
Candidates must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, using initiative when working independently. A genuine passion for making a positive impact on students' lives is a must.
