Job Profile: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with complex learning difficulties at a fantastic college in Yeovil.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Utilise strategies from students' Positive Behaviour Support Plan, Communication Plan and Sensory Diet to provide support students to engage effectively in learning.
  • Work closely with Tutors to follow session plans and schemes of work within Education, and report on the progress of students to inform future planning.
  • Develop learning resources that are individualised to meet students' communication needs.
  • Liaise with Education, Care and Clinical staff to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to supporting outcomes for students.
  • Support students to engage in a range of enrichment activities, including accessing local leisure facilities or day trips across Somerset.
