Job Opportunity: Residential Support Worker

About the Role:

We are currently working with a Residential Special School in Lowestoft, Suffolk, seeking a skilled Residential Support Worker to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional or someone looking to start their career in SEND to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people with Moderate and Complex Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality care and support to pupils, enabling their overall development, progress, and achievement.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that promotes the well-being of children and their families.
  • Assess individual needs and develop, provide, and review support plans to meet these needs.
  • Work with children and young people on personal issues, group work, education attendance, health, and family conciliation.
  • Support pupil-centred planning and transition work.
  • Commute to Lowestoft, Suffolk.
Requirements:
  • Experience in residential childcare with children who have educational, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Recognised behaviour management training (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain.
  • Experience working with young people and/or adults with Moderate and Complex Difficulties.
  • Availability to commit to 2 sleep-ins a week.
  • Commutable to Lowestoft, Suffolk.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards it.
