About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Deputy Home Manager to join our team at Brook Street Social Care. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to young people with emotional and behavioural disorders in a Residential Unit in East London.

Your Key Responsibilities
- To provide a safe, warm, and stable environment for young people aged 11-17 years with emotional/behavioural disorders and/or mild learning difficulties.
- To create a culture and ethos within the home where the needs of the young people are paramount, and they are encouraged to develop, mature, and grow.
- To work collaboratively with young people, their families, residential workers, and other relevant professionals to ensure that their needs are met and their rights are respected.
- To listen to young people and enable them to participate in socially valued activities and interests within the community.
- To maintain, promote, and encourage young people's links and contacts with their own families and friends.
- To promote and encourage young people to be proactive in their health and wellbeing, encouraging them to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
- To provide individual support to young people according to their needs and wishes.
- To ensure that measures of control used within the home fall within service policies and practice, enabling young people to gradually take more responsibility for their own behaviour and assume more control over their lives.
- To positively encourage and support young people to attend education, employment, training facilities made available to them.
- To advocate on their behalf where such facilities have either not been made available or have been withdrawn.
- To provide young people with the opportunity and experience to develop social and practical living skills, enabling them to make a smooth transition into adulthood.
Requirements
- Deputy Managers must be proficient in children's residential care and be prepared to attend relevant training, including QCF Level 3 Children and Young People, Team Leading Level 2&3 up to e.g. QCF Level 5 Leadership in Care.
- Prior management, leadership, supervisory, or business management certification is beneficial.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities, a supportive team environment, and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of our residents.
